I purchased the dual surface 5.7x 9 1/4 inch.pad. I’m impressed with the supreme quality of this pad and plan to purchase another. Furthermore, this company packed their product in a very sturdy box minimizing the possibility of damages in shipping. The pad arrived as scheduled and without any damage to the box. This rug pad is exceptional value for the product. The quality and ease of handling it makes for a great buy. The size is on the generous end as I only had to cut 4 inches total all around to fit under my rug. The rubber backing really allows the rug to adhere to my wood flooring. This will be a definite repurchase in the future.

If you are buying the exact size of your rug, don’t make the mistake I did and not trim (enough) beforehand. We ordered a 10x14 rug but when it came, the measurements showed the rug was slightly less than that. I had to cut a good deal off the rug pad.However, I cut the pad right to the edge of the rug and you could see the rug sitting on top of the pad. It bothered me so I tried to trim just a little more. Then started to add some rug tape. Standing back I could then see pieces of rug tape and still parts of the pad. It was looking sloppy!Finally, I took a full inch off the pad and used long strips of rug tape along the edges of the rug and now the rug looks perfect. (I googled it and read the pad should be 1-4” shorter than the rug.)Moral of the story, trim enough of this pad so you don’t see it underneath which takes away from the aesthetics! Overall, makes our rug more cushiony and it’s definitely not going anywhere. I’m glad we went with the 1/4 inch because any thicker and the edges would not have laid as flat. Great product!

There is DEFINITELY a smell. Kind of reminiscent of vanilla, but not quite. Nasty, actually. We aired it out outside overnight with no success, then tried Febreze Fabric, two coats, which helped a little. Then we brought it inside and laid it down with the rubber side up and cleaned it - twice - with my Tineco vacuum/floor cleaner. Once regular and once with the power boost. Whew! That was a LOT of work to get rid of the smell, but eventually it did work. We live in Arizona and it is HOT here, so if you live somewhere more temperate maybe airing out outside for a few days could work for you. Now that it's down and our rug is on it, it is fine. The size works perfectly for our 9 1/2 x 13 rug, and the padding is just enough. Would have given it five stars except for the smell issue.

The mat does the job. We had no issues with odors. I may use a little rug tape to attach between rug and mat in strategic places just to prevent it bubbling. Overall happy with the purchase.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:Rubberized backing on entire pad. I ordered 3 in total..for front door, hallway and in front of kitchen. I ordered the 1/4 inch and it gave enough extra cushion for the thinner washable rugs I had ordered. Much better than rubber "mesh" type sold in stores and else where..does double duty...cushions and secures rug. Definitely recommend!

Why did you pick this product vs others?:If you want a nice pad that adds softerness to your rug and also keeps it from sliding, you're looking at the right stuff.

This pad is a Cadillac! We bought a large Costco rug for our family room that didn’t have enough padding or grip. This pad makes all the difference. It’s only been a week so no idea on longevity but I suspect it’ll last longer than the actual rug.
