A good everyday GMRS radio to consider for several reasons
This is a great GMRS multi band use radio for the price. It is one of my everyday carry radios that also has NOAA NWS, and FM band that makes it a good one for severe weather season and to take along to my son's baseball game so I can listen to MLB broadcasts on FM and skywarn activities. I can use it with my family for our GMRS activities when out and about. I just wish it also had the military UHF aircraft band for the US. I like that it has a USB C charging port make it more compatible with charging cords. Always have a copy of the manual handy when not programming with software. Worth considering since it is a good XHADATA product.

Oddly quiet and doesn't seem to work in channel mode
I was with a group, each of us bringing our new walkie talkies. So this was an efficient way to test a bunch of model and brands at once. We all switched to Channel 16 and this one simply didn't work (everyone else's did). It was on the wrong frequency or something. Then changing it to VFO frequency mode and manually going to the proper frequency worked, but the speaker was very quiet. It essentially didn't work for our use-case, which in my defense, is a normal use-case lol. I'm returning and getting a Motorola model that is well-proven (T803)

Impressive VHF and UHF radio!!
This VHF and UHF receiver is truly outstanding! The performance across both bands is simply amazing, providing crystal-clear reception. The audio quality is also fantastic – rich and easy to listen to. The inclusion of FM, air, and weather bands makes it incredibly versatile and useful. I was particularly impressed with the commercial FM band reception; it went far beyond my expectations! I can consistently pick up weak and distant FM stations that I also tune in on my other, more specialized radios. Highly recommended!

Pretty good for a $20 radio!
I am a ham, and found this radio only slightly more difficult to program than a Baofeng UV-5R. The menus are similar, so if you're already familiar with the Baofeng clones, you'll probably do fine with this. The manual is fairly helpful for understanding most of the menu items. This radio has some Chinese features which I haven't seen used in the US, such as PTT ID. I haven't bothered with those features and have left them disabled. While there is currently no "XHDATA/E100" radio selection in CHIRP, I was able to program this radio using the "Baofeng/K6" radio selection. That was a huge help for programming. (You'll need a Baofeng programming cable. You cannot program this via the USB-C port. That is just for charging.)I like that this radio supports AM reception. (Bear in mind, this is applicable for air band, not "broadcast AM", as this radio does not support broadcast AM frequencies.)The noise squelch is pretty sensitive, so I'm using tone-squelch ("TSQL") for all of my (repeater) memory channels. For $20 (when I got it), this radio is excellent value, especially for a new ham. (Don't let the old-timers tell you that you need a $200+ handheld radio to get started. Sure, those radios have their place, but so do radios like this!)

Radio Is Very Hard To Program
Radio sounds good receiving Weather and Air Band. Radio is very very difficult to manually program and programming instructions are vague and hard to understand. I could not recommend this radio to anyone!!!

Excellent multi band hand held radio
Very nice VHF UHF multi band hand held radio with many features. Easy to reach most repeaters in the area with the avility to copy local FM radio stations. Built in flashlight. Used the the downloaded software to easily program the repeaters. It can be easily be charged by using a USB regular cellular power supply. Is very small and solid built radio. Extremely competitive price .Another Great addition to the XHDATA family of excellent radios!
