Cheap and Best
This thunderbolt 4 docking station is nothing but a thunderbolt splitter, this works perfectly as described. The size of the splitter unit is not big but the power supply that comes with it is big and heavy for daily carry. But the best part is that it reduces the number of cables that is required to connect to your macbook. I connected 2 type C to hdmi adapters to this 1 device and this deivce uses just 1 port to connect to my macbook, offering 2 displays 2k each and charging my macbook at the same time. I also connected type c to NVME drive and a 1Gbps LAN (ethernet) adapter, all works perfectly with dropping any performance. It is a good deal under 65$.

Literally plug & play….
The media could not be loaded. Wow!!! This thing is a powerhouse. It just works. You plug stuff into it, plug it in and that’s it. I plugged it in to my iPad Pro M2 and wallah. It seen my USB audio interface, seen a 2.4 ghz USB dongle, it seen a 512GB mini SD card, it seen a Samsung monitor connected via a thunderbolt to HDMI cable and it just sent everything everywhere it needed to go. It firstly mirrored my monitor but I soon learned that I had to enable Stage Manager (iOS) to enable a second monitor. It wasn’t the fault of the hub. This thing is a game changer. It also charges my iPad. There was no setup. It’s completely plug & play. It’s a simple design, and the size is perfect. I love it. Make sure to use thunderbolt cables & the thunderbolt cable that comes with the hub.

Missing key feature.
Prevents laptop charger from charging laptop. Lower power delivery from dock causes instability. No way to disable type c charging or to prioritize below power supply

Works great with my Macbook Air M1
I'm focusing my review on the fact that this works with an M1-based Macbook Air which may confuse people since the product description says it only supports later models. I believe the description says that because this dock can support multiple displays while an M1-based laptop like mine doesn't support more than 1 external monitor. But that's a limitation of my Mac, not the dock. So far my experience with this doc has been great - plenty of ports, a good card reader, and it comes with a reasonably long TB4 cable to connect the dock and Mac (much better than the short "pigtail" on the Anker 555 this is replacing.) I also really like having the audio jack on the dock, that's one less cable I have to unplug when moving my MBA. The build quality is also impressive with a clean metal housing and it doesn't heat up like the Anker 555. To top it all off, I don't think you can find a better TB4 dock anywhere near this price.I also want to repeat an important point from other reviews - be sure to use the cable they provide! Some people think it's proprietary, but I doubt that. I think it's just a true TB4 cable.

Love the dock but had to return two of them
Great price (keeps dropping) compared to other TB docks but I've had to return two of them, the first had the Ethernet port to stop working and the second one stopped connecting entirely (green light was on, blue light would no longer come on). LOVE the dock, it has a great set of ports but I don't know if I'm just unlucky or what with the two I have bought. While it was working they were awesome, I used a single cable to run my laptop like it was a desktop with a full keyboard/mouse/monitor and full gigabit Ethernet (and video using a USB-C to HDMI cable), kept it nice and charged as well. For those with questions, I tried the first dock with two separate Lenovo ThinkPad TB4 laptops and the second one with those same laptops and a M4 Mac Mini (using the original TB cable that came with it). They all had the same problems before I returned them. Props to Amazon, they returned them for the purchase price each time.Maybe Amazon will sell these as refurbished at some point, that might be a good deal.

Doesn't appear to work with AMD or as a USB4 dock. Go Intel for TB4 IMHO, it just makes it easier.
This product does not work with ANYTHING AMD as far as I can tell (can’t get TB3/4 AIC 5pin header card for AMD board), research etc. I thought it would work with my minipc (USB4), or a new motherboard I'm researching right now for a new build. NOPE. I thought I could get a thunderbolt addon for my board. PCIE to get it to work. Nope. Only ebay uk/jp etc and they don’t ship USA. It is basically INTEL only (laptops or SPECIFIC motherboards). Also the description leads you to believe you can hook it to USB4 or Thunderbolt: "Amazon Basics Thunderbolt4/USB4 Pro Docking Station", that lead me to believe it would double as a USB4 dock. Nope. Not knocking the product, reviews say spectacularly with INTEL. But for an AMD buyer it's a return. Just be aware. Gave it 4 stars because build Quality seems very good, ports were exactly what I needed, but didn't know about no AMD (at least NOW). IMHO the description should be changed to "Amazon Basics Thunderbolt4 (NO USB4 dock) Pro Docking Station", but that is just me. I'm an ex-IT admin/support (and had a pc biz for 8yrs where I was the only tech), so if it fools me, how many others are disappointed. Thunderbolt to me on the whole isn't as good as Intel would like it to be. Look at the PCIE TB4/TB5 card reviews and tell me people seem happy with them. USB4 seems much better compatibility wise (works on both Intel/AMD pretty much anything). My UM790 Pro from minisforum has 2 usb4.0's which I thought would work with this dock, or my TB4 capable board I'm looking at (a little research left to support all my crap I hook up...LOL). But both are dead ends here. Amazon, please update the description. Even the Asus/Gbyte PCIE cards seem to not work on AMD (14pin not 5). If someone has this dock working on an AMD based system (today, just did it?), feel free to state so and I'll eat my hat so to speak :) Again not knocking the PRODUCT here, it's just a compatibility issue. I'm not even sure if the dock works (before returning now) other than the green light came on when plugged in ;) P.S. Stick with USB4 for now :) Why would you buy Intel with AMD kicking them in gaming, LLM, media creation etc for home use? AMD’s been rocking Intel's world for some time now in many things but can't quite seem to capitalize yet. Again, Design of this is great, quality seems good, easy to hook up etc, size was great too, fits easily on my desk. Got a Dell 30 and 27 I would have loved to see run from it, but oh well. Good luck, and God Bless to everyone. (edited to add Intel side 14pin header, AMD 5pin on most if not all mboards).
