3lb Double Plastic Barrel Stone Tumbler Starter Pack Rock Tumbler Beach

This is a good machine, I'm on my second stage in grit, then I'm going to give them 2 polishes. After the first grinding I wasn't expecting much, wow did I get a lovely surprise, they looked great. I added some of my own rocks that I found on my travels and they too looked amazing. Can't wait to finnish them and get my next load in. The lids are really tight fitting, they need to be or it's going to leak. You need need to run them under hot water to soften them, and don't forget to sqeeze the air out. There are some markings on the rollers from the plastic lids, but it's showing no signs of wear to either the lids or rollers, I think its just oil from the bearings, they do need oiling once a week. It's a little noisy, which is to be expected afterall they are rocks. You will need to run them under the hot tap to remove the lids, and do not empty any of the remains down your sink put it on the garden. I'm expecting some great results from this machine, I would definately buy it again. If your buying for a child they will need help. My husband had to help get the lids off for me. By the way the machine comes with 1 grit and 2 polishes, I've added a 2nd stage fine grit to get an even better shine.

The plastic barrels are hard to open. This was before I filled them with grinding paste, stones, and water. Terrible to open with that "soup" inside. Then they leaked. They slip on the drive rods and fail to tumble. Didn't realise until I returned to find the drums were sitting still and not turning. Complete waste of money. Only the pebbles are of any use. The motor itself is OK with an old rubber drum that I have.

Ordered this for my daughter's birthday and it came well in time. Looks good and pretty sturdy. Good range of starter stones included.
