Review for the clear presidio
I've tried the following cases for the pixel XL: spigen liquid crystal, ringke crystal clear, spigen rugged armor, and Otterbox commuter. The clear presidio by Speck is easily my favorite. Here's why:*Spigen liquid crystal: the very top on the back where the phone curves pressed on the phone, causing that streaky look. This is even with the micro dots which are there to try and prevent that. The case does not have any drop certification on it and seems too thin to take a 4 foot drop. There are also reports of it yellowing. Mine did not yellow after 2 weeks, however.*Ringke crystal clear: this would have been my favorite. It is drop certified. The dagger was the back doesn't have the micro dots and it presses against the glass back of the pixel XL, giving it that streaky look. It was very noticeable and looked bad.*Spigen rugged armor: drop certified, but still doesn't feel too substantial. The trade off of course is it's relatively thin. It just looks ugly to me. It has a matte finish so it reduced fingerprints, so there's that.*Otterbox commuter: what is going on with otterbox? I used commuters on all my old Samsung phones and the commuters were much thinner than the commuter for the Pixel XL. This case is very well made and extremely solid. Some complain about the buttons being too hard to push. I never that problem. They are stiff, but I wouldn't say overly hard to push. There's no other way to say it - this case turns your phone into a serious brick. It looks odd when you take out of your pocket. It just looks so weird with this unwieldy, black block you take out of your pocket. It is also very slick in the hand. The trade off is it slides easily into/out of pocket. This case is only for construction workers or extreme sports. The Speck Presidio: this case is an interesting polycarbonate coated with TPU. I've never seen this before, it's either one or the other or a two-layer case with both materials. This one has the hard shell coated with soft TPU. This makes it resist scratches, since the TPU is very scratch resistant, whereas the polycarbonate clear shells scratch incredibly easy (like the Google clear case). The TPU claims to be yellow resistant; I'll update the review if mine ever turns yellow. The TPU is also very grippy. The clear case is frosted, and not crystal clear. You definitely can still see the phone, which I like since the Pixel XL looks like an iPhone with other cases on it. The frosted look also hides fingerprints somewhat, which is inevitable with clear TPU. However, I've found they clean completely off just by going in/out of the pocket. This is NOT a thin case, but not overly bulky (to me anyway). It is substantial - which I like. It is drop certified up to 8 feet, which is the trade off for the thickness. It is no where close to the otterbox. In terms of thickness, it's somewhere between the otterbox and the spigen liquid crystal, which is exactly what I was looking for. Another thing you should know is the buttons are a bit stiff. They're not super clicky. It's not nearly as stiff as the otterbox, which didn't bother me anyway. The trade off with that is the tight fit. I think they'd have to make it fit looser to give the case more give so the buttons travel easier.I'll update after this takes its first big drop and see how it goes. But this is an awesome case overall and I'm finally done searching.

Outstanding function, look, feel, protection, and value - it's perfect!
This case is wonderful! It's cut to a perfect fit for my Pixel XL. The ports are closely, precisely outlined with rounded-edge cutouts or darker sloping edges that handsomely define the lenses, the screen and fingerprint sensor, while making those last two feel comfortable and natural to use. The case is obviously flexible with substantial rubbery protection inside and on those sloping edges, yet has a sleek, matte, hard candy shell exterior that's pleasant on the fingers and the eyes. The rubberized grip lines make the phone feel exceptionally secure in the hand, but aren't obtrusive. The power and volume buttons are covered yet easy to press and responsive, and they produce a satisfying tactile 'click'. The screen is well protected by the raised (yet unobtrusive) edge all the way around, which keeps it raised above surfaces when lain face down. Overall, this case feels like a natural extension of the phone, not bulky at all, comfortable and pleasant to touch, not to mention inexpensive and oh so pretty! It's feels like an incredible value (especially compared to the $30 hard clear case from Google that I returned immediately, as it seemed it to only protect the back cover and two sides, and maybe only from a key scratch at that). Most importantly, though: if I drop this thing (and that's a big if, now that it's got such great grip), I am confident that it is NOT going to break no matter how it hits. It's one of those great purchases that makes you happy to instantly forget what life was like before you got it.

Slim case with Great Protection
Just got the Pixel XL as a warranty replacement for my old 6p. Since the Pixel is about a year old a lot of the good cases are out of stock or marked up. I originally planned on getting the supcase like the one of my 6p but, since it was unavailable, I went and got the Spigen tough armor. That case was garbage in my opinion and decided to spend a couple dollars more on this case. I am 100% glad with my decision to switch to this case. I usually avoided Speck cases before because of the glossy design on the back but this one has a nice matte finish.Pro- the case adds very little bulk to the phone- adds great protection (watch some of the drop test videos on YouTube)- nice color and design- provides good grip and feelCons- The lip on the screen side of the phone is not as deep as I want. You phone screen won't come lay flat against surfaces but still (I tried to find some con)

Not bad
This looks like a simple case with lines going diagonally around it. I actually made this purchase because I don't like to hold my phone with force, if that's the proper terminology, as that adds unnecessary stress to my palm, which can induce soreness and is annoying when the phone itself is thin. This case definitely does its job in making the phone grippy. I can now put the phone on my fingers (the tip of my index finger would reach the middle of the phone's back while the rest reach the opposite end) and use my thumb to browse my stuff. The reason why I am giving this a 4* rather than a 5 is that this case doesn't solve the soreness issue. Because the outer casing rounds off rather than embodying a squareish design, it still digs into my palm in some use-cases (e.g., when I use my phone on the bed where I squish it between the palm of one hand and the surface of the mattress).
