Q: how to you know what size to order?

If I remember right the size charge was actually on the order page. I ordered a medium and although my hands are pretty large I took a medium. According to the charge 3 1/2 inches across the your hand from just below the fingers is the max for medium. Anything above that is large. They do have a lot of stretch and after some wear they actually loosen up a little bit.

Mine did too. But, there wasn't a medium. It was a small or large. So, I got small. Fits fine.

Q: What is the percentage of cotton & spandex?

88% cotton, 12% spandex, wonderful feel!

Q: how long do they last?
