Work well, but not as rugged as alternative devices
The Shure BLX1 works well, with no dropouts or issues in a small theater environment. The price is right and they are easy to set up. We have had no failures or issues, but we also handle them with care. The plastic housings and battery doors are not as robust as the more expensive Sennheiser alternative. But as long as you use them appropriately you should have no problems.

Worth it
This is my second one and I think it’s worth it. Can’t go wrong with it. Recommend it too

Great wireless transmitter
This transmitter was ordered as part of a system to replace a a 20+ year old Audio-Technica wireless microphone system. Installation is easy, with no need to pick a specific MHz frequency band - just toggle through the available frequency settings and match with the receiver. Operation is simple with a sliding on/off switch on top of the transmitter. Sound quality of the system is excellent. When ordering make sure that the frequency band of the transmitter, designated by Shure with a letter and number ("H10" for example) matches the band for the receiver. 5 stars.

Warranty does NOT cover impact of sweat!!
I purchased the Shure BLX1 Bodypack Transmitter less than a year ago; I am fitness instructor and use it along with the wireless headset to teach cycle classes twice a week. I wear the transmitter in a tune belt bodypack so that it is away from my body.Initially the product was great. However, after a short period of time, I noticed that the sound was deteriorating and would sometimes stop in the middle of a class. There was also some periodic hissing or what seemed to be a “bad connection” between the headset and the transmitter.I contacted customer service about the issue. They were very responsive and polite. I sent the Transmitter and Headset back for review and was assured that, as it was under the two-year warranty, they would fix it for me at no cost.NOT TRUE!The warranty, shockingly, DOES NOT cover the impact of sweat potentially corroding the connectors. These are designed FOR fitness instructors, who SWEAT. I was told that the $149 transmitter would cost $117 to repair … and it’s less than ONE YEAR OLD.Suggest you try a different brand!

refurbished?
box seamed factory sealed, but dust on unit and a ripped open bag that was empty, was inside the box. internal packaging was disheveled . I have a feeling it was refurbished at the factory? unit works as per design paired with a blx4r receiver on H9 freq.

Shure quality has been dependable for me
Someone walked off with one of our wireless beltpack mics. This was a replacement for what went missing. I never have to worry about Shure quality. But, you definitely pay for that quality. NOTE: make certain that if you're buying this beltpack seperately, that you match the frequency code from your receiver to this product. ALSO, this doesn't come with the actual microphone part (Shure CVL Centraverse Clip-On Lavalier Condenser Microphone), so if you need more than just the transmitter, buy the mic as well.

Green Light on pack helps troubleshoot other failures.
If the green light is on, it tells the user to check other equipment when there is no sound. The pack connects reliably on a weekly basis and stays connected through the hour-long service.
