It keeps my laptop cool during gaming and does not fall off.
These are the reason why I would recommend VICOODA Laptop Vacuum Cooler:1=It will not fall off the laptop. Having two screws that can be screwed onto the lower platform of a laptop over the rubber piece that help keep the airflow moving through the vent. (Why has no one else thought of this before) I have an Alienware Laptop that cost a big chunk of $$$. I want to keep it safe and be able to walk around with if needed.2=The fan runs quietly: Very quiet! (I have tried a number of fan cooler and this is the only one that has worked for me.)" Finally, someone remembers that we are buying these gadgets to protect our expensive LAPTOPS"3= It has 3 control buttons, 1 to decrease fan speed, 2 middle button turns fan on and off, and 3 to increase fan speed. (That is the most simple form of operation. Everything about this device was made simple, quiet and to attach and move with any laptop)I am a very happy customer of this product. I hope they continue making them and improving. Maybe make it a little slimmer? Cannot help myself there seems to always be room for improvement. I am sure other makers are going to copy them in the future.

You get what pay for.
It was as loud as youd expect. It didn't cool my computer anymore then the stock fans. Going to try and get a refund.

(Updated, with regrets & warnings) Previous: Its low cost and it works!
*Updated, after several months of use. Original review below.*I now have deep regrets about making this purchase. I am giving two stars (from previous 4) because it does a good job cooling, while it was working. My first warning regarding this device is that it is one of the few models that use the screw-camp method to attach. There is a reason others do not adopt the model. There is a high risk for accidents involving your screen. On the bed, at night, that's exactly what happened. There had been close-calls and inconveniences of having to dissemble or never close by laptop lid. Involving some pillows, it happened. The lid closed too far when one of the screws was not fully removed completely away from the laptop. Crunch. There went my touchscreen cracking like an extensive spiderweb, including the length of the screen. It did not take much pressure. I can remember the sound. Crunch. Glass shards. Dozens of all sorts of screens in my lifetime, this was the first time I experienced a crack. It was too expensive to get a replacement screen, yet its a gaming laptop, so I turned it into a desktop with a monitor and patched the cracked areas. I was still in need of a cooling fan, and now the lid shouldn't ever be down, so I kept using the Viccooda.Recently, after moderate (non-daily) use, the power would shut-on and off. I thought it was my usb. no. I switched to usb extension with alternative power, no (i.e. not taking power from my laptop but from wall power). I would have to keep an eye on it turning off and fuss with turning it back on, frequently. There was no correlation with heat or duration. Today it finally would not turn on after all the numerous tricks. It looked clean, like new, no evidence on the device or wires. It just died.If I could do it over again, I wouldn't have chosen the risk of this product design, especially not for only several months of good performance, though it did become inconvenient trying to protect the screen (heartbreaking to have failed).Lesson learned. You can decide which attributes and risks are right for you.**Below is my first review, written shortly after I switched to the Vicooda model:**I first tried a different brand that was also low cost but it quickly shattered from weak design. I didn't want to spend a lot of money but wanted something less flimsy. I took a chance on this one and have been very pleased. It's quiet and it does keep my laptop cooler, much better than other cooling fans on the bottom. It's not super strong to prevent overheating indefinitely, which could be an issue with my SSD but it's much better than what I otherwise have been doing. It grips fine though I have to remove to close the laptop. Not sure how that can be improved. Its very quiet and appears to adjust its speed according to how active you're on the laptop - uncertain how that feature works. Easy to restart with a click of a button. Worth the money.

Good For Cooling HP Notebooks
This cooling fan seems to have been a major help in keeping my notebook from rebooting suddenly due to heat issues - and in the middle of work with no save. My HP Notebook was overheating and giving me a fatal kernel error (check your event log). It was getting me really mad the notebook would just turn off with no warning at all. and so far it keeps my notebook much cooler and no unexpected shuts downs yet. It also has a digital readout on top that tells you the temp, speed of fan. It's made very well.

Cool
Saw this VICOODA fan on Amazon and bought it because my laptop would overheat and shut down. The fan pad underneath did little to stop the shutdowns. Actually considered buying a new laptop. But this fan is AMAZING. Dropped temperatures down in seconds. My laptop was running over 123 degrees before and now rarely gets above 95. The thermometer display is icing on the cake. I would highly recommend this fan.
