I got this book for my 9 yo who is starting his third year of violin. While some pieces are easy (quarter and half notes only, no flats or sharps), I’d say most are at least early intermediate to early advanced—at least for a child. Slurs, staccatos, etc are prevalent throughout the book, as well as different timings (3/4, 12/8). He will take this into his teacher for some help and as a way to break up the Suzuki he usually focuses on. Added: He was playing Chariots of Fire. For reasons unknown to me, this version contains no slurs. Most versions do, and other sings have slurs, so I'm not sure why this one does not.

This book of sheet music is awesome! It's has many songs that are great for beginners. It's just a wonderful series.

Very fun book. I've been playing for a few months and this book has many songs I can play for fun. And there are still many that I can aspire to play.
