Very overpriced
Absolutely full marks to Wallaroo for their biodegradeable packaging, but I am somewhat less impressed with what's inside. The pineapple chunks that are said to be gently dried are actually quite aggressively dried - at least the three packets I've eaten were, with the promised pineapple burst of flavour nowhere to be experienced. I do like dried fruit, and eat an obsessive amount, so I'm quite aware of how good it can be. The Wallaroo product is just above average, certainly not premium or top-tier. However, it comes at a premium price. Each pack contains 30g, which is pretty mean - that's £1.25 per pack, or 4p per gram. Per gram! What's more, the fruit is cut very small - about the size of a large raisin, possibly to make it easy to measure out the teeny 30g serving, but one pack isn't even one full ring of pineapple, which I would argue is the minimum acceptable "snack size". A quick search on Amazon will offer you many cheaper alternatives, and although most won't have the excellent compostible packaging of the Wallaroo, they don't need it, either. It's very hard to recommend this product. The portion size is miserable, the fruit is over-dried and cut far too small, often flavourless. While the packaging is a good idea, it's simply not needed here. They could have put the contents of all ten packs into one and it would still be largely empty. Because of the high price, I can't award this an "acceptable" 3 stars.=====I am grateful to Wallaroo and Amazon for the review sample I received. I review all Vine products honestly and offer reasons for my scores. I have no affiliation to Wallaroo, Amazon nor either of their competitors.

Very tasty
Though these dried pineapple chunks may not be the most visually attractive food product, they are damn tasty.Once in the mouth the taste really hits you, which only intensifies as you chew, seemingly keeping all of the flavour of the fresh fruit. They eat like a chewy sweet, with a similar texture to gummies and very moreish. My son absolutely loves them and immediately asked for another packet. The packet size is just right for a snack and is a good addition to a packed lunch (and perhaps a tad healthier than chocolate). They are a high-sugar product but they have a lot more in the way of nutrition than many other sweet snacks. If you compost at home you'll be able to dispose of the packaging that way, which is better than a plastic bag which may, or may not, eventually be recycled. As for the whole lifetime environmental impact of the packaging, I cannot say but hopefully it is a step in the right direction.

Nice enough, though I had both great and not-great fruit in the same pack. Too expensive, though
I'm a type 2 diabetic and have to be very careful with what I eat, especially carbs that convert to sugar quickly and tax my body. I always buy fruit that's simply been dried without any sugar or preservatives added. I was delighted to get this, but whilst the taste isn't bad, and the fruit has the chewiness that means you eat it quite slowly and chew a fair bit, in the same pack (and yes, I read the information about batches of fruit and seasonality, etc.) there were sweet and scented pieces and also pieces that were unscented and rather flavourless.I use Urban Fruit and in comparison, despite the wonderful decompostable packaging, this is far too expensive for me. I can buy 80g for a few pence more than one bag of this brand that only contains 30g, and yes, I do want to do my bit for the environment, but not at this price. And, with Urban Fruit, you get to see which variety/ies of which fruit has gone into the pack and you can decide on preferences. I've learned which to look out for and which not, so unfortunately this brand that I've tried today won't be one that I'll be forking out for.

A very tasty and chewy snack.
These are not the most enticing-looking snacks, but have everything going for them in terms of taste, nutrition and eco-friendliness. Although the chunks are small, they are long lasting and chewy, and the pineapple flavour comes through strongly with the right balance of sweetness. Each 30gm bag is 101kcals so it makes a convenient snack without piling on the pounds with added sugar and salt.I took a couple of packs to a gathering of friends and family recently, and they disappeared like magic – everyone commenting on how lovely they were.I initially thought that they were overpriced, but after eating them, the quality and lack of additives makes for reasonable value. Finally, I love the fact that the packaging is biodegradable on a compost heap!

Fun And Good.
These Wallaroo Gently Dried Pineapple Chunks come in a bright, amusing packet that shows a pineapple monster shaking its spear in greeting. The pieces of pineapple within look a bit like Japanese dried mushrooms but taste like pineapple instead. They are nicely chewy and quite sweet; a little too sweet for my taste but that means I munch one or two piueces and not a whole packet.I have found this product is very useful for adding to sweet-and-sour dishes and I used the pieces in a chicken pineapple meal the other evening with some success. I'm sure you can use them in dried fruit cakes too, where they have the advantage of being additive free. I've chopped them and added them to breakfast oats, too. They are fun and I like them.

No plastic waste
In the box, you get 10 packets of dried pineapple chunks, and in each packet you get 30 g. That does make plenty for a snack. Each bag contains 101 calories. There is no added sugar or salt, preservatives, or sulphites. They have an Australian logo but are packed in a UK facility in Oxford, so they have a UK address.Impressively, this packet can be added to your compost and will presumably break down. So there is no plastic waste. The chunks themselves are chewy pineapple chunks. You can either eat these out of the packet, or add them to your breakfast cereal. A good way to up your fruit intake when fresh fruit might not be available. You could also take these out with you to supplement your energy levels.
