Modern Android and USB Audio Output
This music player caught my eye with a couple of features that are not typical of budget players: 4GB of RAM (which is not impressive, but better than the typical 2GB), and the fairly recent Android 14 (when most budget players are stuck on Android 9 or older). After a few software tweaks, I am very happy I got it.Note: This review is for the Foeuyte "Model M9" music player, which identifies itself to Windows under the name "QT10."What I Don't Like- Silly-looking and redundant iPhone-esque home button under the screen.- The single included music app is ad-supported with the option to upgrade to ad-free (lol, no). It also struggles to display some album art.- The default launcher, "Quickstep," is skinned with ugly, dated-looking icons.- Mediocre bundled earbuds, which everyone should expect by now. What I Like- A slim protective case is included, but the border of the player itself is metal and hefty in a way that feels more robust than some premium smartphones.- With modern Android, comes support for gesture navigation; although the "iButton" can't be disabled, its only function is single-press for home, so it doesn't really get in the way.- I have similar budget players with 2GB of RAM, which works fine for local or streaming music consumption, but the bump to 4GB on this one makes it feel a bit snappier when interacting with the screen, launching apps, etc.- Almost every app can be uninstalled, and others can be disabled. Bye-bye Facebook, TikTok, other bloat, default launcher and default music player.- Make it your own. I have set up my player with Olauncher (a free-to-use and ad-free launcher), and Poweramp Pro (a feature-rich paid music player I've used for years). I recommend this combination, but of course, the beauty of Android is that you can choose the free/paid/ad-supported apps of your choice as you see fit. What I Like Best- USB audio output, which is rare in budget Android players. You can listen to music directly through USB-C headphones (if you'd like), but most importantly, it is possible to connect the player to a portable DAC/AMP. Based on the physical size of the QT10, I chose to pair it with my Fiio Q3, and the result is a still-pocketable and very capable budget rig. This functionality was unexpected, but very welcome.Based on its specs, the QT10 is way ahead of most budget competitors which offer less RAM and older Android for the same price or more. It is worthy of your consideration as a stand-alone player, but it's an even better buy if you're looking for something budget-friendly to pair with your favourite DAC/AMP.

Nice MP3 player with Android 14
What caught my attention was the Android 14 OS installed on this player. I have an older MP3 player operating on Android 8, which was somewhat heavy to carry around. So, even though this screen is only 4" compared to the my previous 5" screen, I decided to give it a try.Setting up the player was easy. The player easily read my micro SD card. The music player app has a 5 band equalizer with a choice of presets or you can customize to your preference. It also has lyric accessibility, like my old player. What was annoying were the loaded ads. Alternatively, you can download another music player app from the installed Google Play Store.I found that with using a wired earbud, the music is quite loud even at low volume. So, using a wired earbud with volume control is preferable. On the other hand, bluetooth earbuds work fine and is easy to pair.I also watched YouTube videos for over an hour without any glitches. Video and audio quality were good. Spotify also works just as well. With the Play Store, you have the nice option of downloading additional apps. It would have been nice to have a back button on the bottom of the panel to tap, to make it easier to negotiate apps. Often times when you are listening to music in the background, you might want to use another app, like browsing your email, etc. A dedicated back button would be definitely be handy. Also, a casting feature would be useful, when you want to switch to a large screen. As it stands, you can only cast within YouTube.I prefer using a MP3 player for listening to music. Using a phone drains the battery, especially when using bluetooth earbuds. This MP3 player is lightweight, easy to fit in your pocket and carry around the house. Charging the battery from 14% to full power was under 2 hours. It gets warm but not hot. A few additional features would take this MP3 player up a notch.
