I have just one winter scarf. Unfortunately it was given to me as a gift, and reflects the country where it was knit far better than it does my complexion. So this scarf, available in a host of colors, looked quite enticing.I actually didn't open the package for a day or two, though, because I just wasn't that excited about it - winter clothing in the summer heat isn't something you you perk up about, and I couldn't remember what color I ordered. But when I ripped open the package, it was the loveliest green. I had a hard time capturing it accurately with my phone, but finally hung it over a bar stool to to try to the shade right.The polyester fabric is so amazingly soft, and it's easy care: the tag says machine wash warm, tumble dry low heat. Since the vendor's Amazon site says "hand wash," I compromise by putting it in the washing machine on the hand wash setting, in a bag, and then on the fluff setting in the dryer. Obviously the polyester content means this is not a Pashmina, but at 77 by 26 inches, it's large enough to be a warm wrap all by itself, if not a table runner or swag - provided you're willing to give up the softness of that winter scarf around your neck. So comfortable and warm.

Fully opened and lying flat on a bed, I measured the scarf at 68-inches long and about 26-inches wide. The fabric is a tight-woven and thin, quality fabric. So, by the time you double it or triple fold it, you've got a very attractive multiple-layer scarf.For anyone who’s lived in a cold climate, it’s understood that covering the neck with the right scarf means protection from the elements. But when it’s the right material, just the scarf’s contact provides a level of support and comfort. This scarf does just that. And as others may have mentioned, the Lavender fabric also looks good. We know from experience in cold weather that raising the jacket-collar helps, but it doesn’t include that direct contact and feel of a wrap-around scarf. So yes, a scarf like this certainly has a primary function, but with this fabric quality and the designer color, it’s also a very nice accessory item for a woman’s wardrobe. Obviously we’re impressed with the scarf and the very reasonable price point. This is an easy item to recommend.
