First in the Wonderful Chesapeake Shores Series
Seventeen-year-old Abby O'Brien was the sibling who was there for her sister Jess after their mother left the family. For nearly fifteen years, she, along with their grandmother, filled in for her absent mother and nearly absent father. Now Jess needs help and Abby once again comes running, but what is she running back to?Abigail O'Brien works on Wall Street and she's successful-and divorced. She shares custody of her twin daughters with ex-husband Wes. When Jess calls, Abby hesitates. Business is hectic and she's certain she can't manage an extended stay in Chesapeake Shores, but she's always the one who has bailed Jess out after one of her "screw ups", and she won't let her down now.Jess has worked hard turning the Inn at Eagle Point into a bed and breakfast, but having ADD makes it difficult for Jess to focus, and she's gotten behind on her payments to the bank. To avoid foreclosure, Abby steps in and takes over the finances, a move that displeases both her and Jess. Jess doesn't want the oversight and Abby doesn't want the bank's demands that she stay in Chesapeake Shores until things are on an even keel.Ten years ago, Abby walked out on Trace Riley, and now he's the bank's loan officer. Not only is their meeting difficult, it's Trace who sets the rules under which the bank will hold off on the foreclosure. But shortly after arriving, Abby discovers her feeling for Trace have never diminished, and his for her are as strong as ever. Can she sort out the problems with the Inn, her feelings for Trace and the disagreements between her boisterous family members?Ms. Woods brings readers a delightful story in this first book in the Chesapeake Shores series. Strong writing, wonderful characterizations and a charming setting are staples in the talented Ms. Woods' repertoire of women's fiction. Grab a cup of tea and read about the wonderful O'Briens. Each book in the series stands alone, but read in order makes for a wonderful understanding of this delightful, meddlesome and utterly charming Irish-American family.

Inaccurate Portrait of ADD
Although I love these books, no matter how much research you do or how many experts you consult, it's difficult to write an ADD character if you don't know someone intimately who has itBut despite the shortcomings in Jess, the book and the Hallmark tv series are worth reading and viewing. The characters are interesting and the meddling O'Brien's are wonderfully down to earth. Just like real families, they have issues and flaws. The casting in the series is outstanding and the changes in the series for plot lines are refreshing and actually make the series better. The entire book series is lovely and although not everything in real life is "happily ever after," it's fun to read.

I think Sherryl did a great job of creating well developed characters
This is the first book that I have read of Sherryl Woods' even though I own quite a few. To be honest I read it because of the new movie/tv show that are coming out on Hallmark Channel. I think Sherryl did a great job of creating well developed characters. She gave you enough information about their past so that you could understand how they got to their current state but didn't go overboard. In addition to creating well developed characters she also did a great job setting the scene. She made the town of Chesapeake Shores a town that everyone would want to come visit and live in.An interesting story line that I liked that Sherryl included in the book was the relationship between Abby and her sister Jess. Most romance authors concentrate on just the main two characters and sometimes include outside characters into it at times. But in Inn at Eagle Point Sherryl did a great job including how the relationship of Jess and Abby and how their mother leaving affected their life. One of my favorite quotes in the book was one that Trace said about how Abby was a good mom. I know author readers were all thinking what I was at that moment. Aww... Here is the quote:"Look, being a bad mom is taking off when some of your kids are too little to understand why you're leaving. Being a bad mom is leaving a seventeen year old daughter to take over and try to make things right. You lived that with Megan. You know firsthand what its like to have a mother you can't count on. You will never allow your girls to feel that kind of pain." He tucked a finger under her chin. "Don't ever let me hear you question your mothering skills again."Can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Nice romance
Lovely romance to read and pass the time. The history about Abby and Trace is sweet and makes your heart warm. There’s a show on Netflix, but very different and slower than the book.

Abby & Jess's story
This was a lovely story, I enjoyed reading about the family and their struggles with daily life and the turmoil of divorce. Abby deserved her happy ever after with Trace. I see the next in the series is about Bree, she seems to be quiet and thoughtful. Will be good to read about her situation.

Loved the book
After watching the Chesapeake Shores series, I was curious to know how the author had written the books. Which is when I purchased the first two books in the series.I started reading The Inn at Eagle Point and got hooked after a bit of an effort to wipe out the film running in my head. But after the first couple of chapters I was totally lost in the story. It is so beautifully written. What I liked best was that whether it is in India or in America, people aren’t all that different. It’s family and values which count the most. All the characters, beginning with Nell, Mick, Megan, Abby, Trace, Bree and Jess—I love them all.And I was glad to see Abby finding the happiness she deserved with Trace. Now, going on to read the second book in the series…
