Q: what is the circumference of this hat? I have large head with lots of hair.

It is completely adjustable with a ribbon tie inside the hat...I have a very small head and was able to adjust it to fit perfectly, as it was initially way too big for me. I would imagine that it could accommodate you head and hair but haven't tried it in the "reverse direction." I get so many compliments on this hat... I love the hat!

Q: How well does this hat really travel? Can I roll it up and expect into kepi's form?

It does keep its form. I don't roll it up. I put socks, etc. in the crown and lay it on top in my suitcase, since the website says it is not a packable style. It does fine in my suitcase and also in my beach bag, but I do try to be careful with it. I looked at a lot of hats, and this was the only one I liked. It is adjustable to your head size, which is important to me, so it won't blow off on the beach. A friend of mine also bought the same style. It's a great hat!

Q: Can the brim be worn down?

The Wallaroo Hat Company Women's Catalina sun hat has been specifically designed in a raffia breton style, thus it is not recommended to alter the brim.
