Police Academy: The Complete Collection [7 film] [Blu-ray] [1984] [2013] [Region Free]

I am giving this review 3 stars solely because so far two of the movies (Police academy 1 & 2 have mono audio) the tracks called DTS Mono English and is the only English audio track when I play it back on my laptopIf I play police academy 1 on Netflix or the audio is stereo so why couldn’t they have added stereo on the Blu-ray version ? I’d imagine if I play it through the sound bar it would sound terrible

The region wasn't mentioned in the description... turns out to be region 1(usa) so is totally useless in the uk.🤬

The first film is very entertaining and the rest stick to the same formula with diminishing results.Essentially:Mahoney/ Nick: set up the pranks and usually get the girls.Tackleberry: fires a gun and tells someone they will do something "NOW MISTER"Hightower: demonstrates super human strength and wows onlookersHarris: tries hard, is often devious and would probably be far more successful if it weren't for "PROCTOR!"Hooks: Shouts "Don't move dirt bag!" towards the end of the film.Lassard: Says "Many" many times over and is ultimately successful despite being clueless.Callahan: Has big boobs and shows them off to to an increasingly large male fan base of all ages.Jones: Makes noises and demonstrates the campiest martial arts of the era.There really isn't much more to them than the above... lighthearted comedy, 80s cheese.Enjoy....

I'm not a fan of the last 4 but after all.. why not having all of them ;)Quality is quite good, this is not "digitally remastered" and the quality isn't that bad anyway.There are 4 languages: English, Italian, French and again English (commentary?)There are a number of subtitles as well.Packaging is also not bad, 2 disks per case, 4 into the box (1,2 / 3,4 / 5,6 / 7).I'm very happy about the purchase :)

Brings back childhood memories. The 1st time I saw the movies it was during Christmas holidays and somehow I found myself wanting to watch it during this particular time of the year. I'm pleased I found all movies in a set and for very good price too.

I have to admit I only bought it for bad times whne I feel i might need a good laugh and haven't even unpacked the box yet. The movies are most likely known by everyone who ever needed a godo laugh. It is smart, witty and a bit dumb comedy at times, that will get you laughing no matter. As with every movie that was initially intended as one movie, but then got sequel and sequel and a few more sequels, the movies never were Oscar-worthy, but they didn't need to. I believe their concept was never to make you think about stuff, but just... make you laugh and give you a good time. they kept the whole idea trough all 7 films, althought they exchanged more or less most of the originally cast by the time they reached the 7th film. Which is admittedly a bit sad. The 7th nevertheless worked as well - althought not sure how successful it was. If you are having a down day, need a good laugh or just want a good time for a few hours - this is your movie.

Police Academy is one of those marmite movie series, you either love it hate it.Personally I'm a fan and watched all of these as a kid. Yes they're silly and yes some entries are quite weak, the longer the series went on the worse they became, but they're consistently watchable if you're in the mood for some old fashioned 80's idiocy.It's a great collection and well worth getting if you were a fan at the time.

I have only seen one episode which made me feel happy as it was so funny. I therefore found this DVD pack on Amazon & I'm looking forward to watching the remaining films.Thank you very much.
