This will solve the issues with external drives not getting enough power over usb for the Wii and the WiiU. Highly recommend to just start with this product here than waste time and money on trial and error. Functions perfectly, plug and play. Provides ample power for external ssd.

I needed the cord to pull files off of an external drive that requires power with my 2016 Macbook Retina. Using a USB hub worked just fine. The only trick I found is to remember that the USB that has both cords sticking out goes into the drive and the other two go into the hub. I was able to retrieve data I needed just fine. Great deal for the price.

I got this to hook up to 2 small usb solar panels. When testing it did not provide any improved charging of my phone. While testing it in a power bank I found 1 of the plugs was able to provid 14w while the other provided 12w. When both plugged in they only did 14w. No difference.

Just tested this with an external drive enclosure and a SSD. When using the cable that came with the enclosure I'm getting 400+ MB/s read and write. Using this cable I only get about 40 MB/s read and write, which seems to indicate it's only USB 2.0. That's fine for my use case since I bought this to connect an external drive to a PS3, but be warned if you're looking for something that's actually USB 3.0/3.1.

The USB-C tongue is not long enough and does not extend far enough into the phone. I bought two of these. Each barely makes contact, and easily loses contact. There is no click when inserted. Other USB-C cables have a slight click when seated properly.

Useless. Did not provide extra power to my Sound Devices MixPre 6 II, not enough power for it to work. The manufacturer's own original cable (long and sturdy), works fine, whereas this cheapo cable does not work at all. Useless, a waste of landfill space.
