Larry's Coffee Organic Fair Trade Whole Bean, Espresso/No.17, 35.2 Oz

I gave up on going to Starbucks and bought myself a Breville espresso machine, but had no idea what beans to grind so was using Starbucks espresso beans. As a gift my sister-in-law sent me a bag of Larry's Secret Espresso #17. Before this I wasn't sure you could tell a difference between beans, but Larry's changed everything. There is no comparison, this coffee is so amazing I have no interest in even trying any other beans. The smell of the beans, the smell of the ground coffee, and the taste are out of this world. Grinding the beans is pure pleasure. The taste is so rich, yet has no bitter or harsh tone the way other beans do. The flavor of the coffee, in my opinion, can have no parallel. I've already bought 3 large bags of this, lol, and plan to keep on buying it.

This is strong coffee. As close to espresso as you can get but without a bitter taste. At first I was overdoing it with 2 scoops of coffee in a 10oz mug because that’s what I was used to with really bad coffee. I couldn’t sleep for days because it was so potent. I reduced it over time to about 3/4 scoop and found that was the right amount for me. One bag is lasting a lot longer because I can use less for the same strength and better flavor than my previous coffee brands. I also like Larry’s as an organization and happy to support them.

Good taste and smell. I purchased in april for about $24 and came back a few days later to order more after trying it. The price went up by $10 in just 5 days!

Best coffee ever! Totally love it and won't buy anything else. I used to be a regular at Starbucks and NEVER go anymore because this coffee is so much better.

There are bright, winey espressos and there are dark roasty espressos. I like the latter, but appreciate both. This one is in between. These two flavor profiles don't mix well. You gotta pick one or the other. One the bright side, it's a fresh, well roasted bean that structurally makes a good espresso - great crema. You can tell there's care and quality here. I just don't like the schizophrenic palate. (made with Baratza Virtuoso on 3/40, Gaggia Classic)

I have tried many brands including, Ethical Bean Coffee, Jo, Allegro, Blue Bottle Coffee, and this is absolutely the bestcoffee I've tried so far.

Good tasting coffee. Dark, bold flavors. Would try again.
