PURIFIT Advanced Shower and Tap Filter for Hard Water - Removes Chlorine Reduces Hairfall (Silver)

The media could not be loaded.  A wonderful product that has improved the quality of water that we use for bathing. We live in an apartment where the cleaning of the tank happens once in 6 months or in a year. Though the hardness of the water that we use is not too high, the impurities and chlorine level is very high and causes a lot of damage to our hair. This product was the perfect solution for us.First, this is not an RO device so the harness of water does not reduce drastically, but the 6th layer of Polyphosphate crystal has the property of removing lime scales and metal residue thereby reducing the water hardness. I haven't measured the hardness using a meter but the scaling has reduced which i can see from the bucket looks before and after using this filter.In our apartment, the water has a lot of chlorine which sometimes causes itching on the skin and hair also becomes dry and dull. The calcium sulphite layer has he property to filter or neutralize chlorine. Though i don't see drastic improvement in my hair health, i don't get that itching now.The package came with an additional replacement filter. But there is no way to find out when the first filter has worn out. We can only guess by looking at the flow rate of water and visible quality of water. I wish Purifit came out with some innovative way to find when to change the filter. This is the one of the cons i find with this filter but not a deal breaker for me. As the product comes with 1 year warranty, i feel 1 cartridge filter might last for a year but need to use it for long and see it's durability and also depends on the existing water quality.The cartridge has other filters like activated carbon that can remove toxins from water. Other layers are KDF for removing lead, mercury, iron and hydrogen sulphide, Alkaline ball which improves ph level of water, Mineral ball for oxygenation of water, cotton and steel mesh for filtering large particles sand and rust. In my apartment when tank is cleaned or when the water in the tank empties and gets refilled a lot of dirt or sand particles come through the tap. Though the taps at my place have the plastic aeration filter it wasn't enough for blocking minutes dirt and water comes with a red or brown color. This Purifit filter has helped in filtering the sediment and water quality is much better now.We have narrow and wide taps in our home and this one didn't fit the extra wide Jaguar taps but fits perfect with the regular Jaguar taps. The installation was very simple but the instruction manual wasn't that clear. The product comes with 1 year warranty. Wish Purifit can give additional tap connector for the extra wide taps.Though it purifies or filters water to a good extent, this might be good only for bathing or external water usage taps and not for the drinking water taps. Overall a wonderful product and has definitely reduced itchiness by removing chlorine, has reduced hardness to a certain extent but not drastically and water quality has improved a lot due to the 10 stages of filtration. The pricing could have been a little lesser as Rs.2000 for 1 tap is quite on the higher side.

Review after 8 months of use:PROS:IT works, cleans dirty water and makes it usable for bathing, and its super easy to install. We had this black particles and visible impurities coming out of tap water. This one helped in filtering these properly.Quality of the cartridge holder looks good. The cartridges themselves are very sturdy and will not break easy. I had to literally kept on banging it with a hammer and other tools to open a cartridge to see whats inside.CONS:Sadly the catridges do not last long, 3-4 months max. After a month of use water flow will slow down.After opening the cartridge i understood why water flow slows down. It is because there is this cotton mesh type of cloth screen inside which gets dirty and can not be washed from outside even with strong water jet. After 3 months water flow is soo slow that it becomes unusuable for shower.Used it for 8 months. Each cartridge lasted avout 4 months. Catridges are like INR 500-600 each. Therefore not value for money specially since they do not last long.There are no 10 stage inside the filter cartridge. Its full of black grenules (google search telling me its activated carbon granules), some white pebble type stuff (carbon activated rice balls as per my google search) and Phitkari pieces (potassium alam pieces).Tips:1. Ctridge if washed every week will keep water flow descent for a longer time. Taking the catridge out and washing it is easy.2. Once water flow slows down the catridge can be washed and turned. This will increase water flow again for sometime.Will not buy cartridges again. Looking for other alternatives for filtering shower water.

Not getting fitted in jaguar 28mm tap. Waste of money. The adapter supplied is very small.

It actually works in reducing the hardness

Writing this review after about 4 months of usage for a family of 2I’ve used both cartridges. Initially few days, the water flow is good but after 2 weeks it slows down significantly. When I contacted the seller, I was told this is normal and I need to remove the cartridge, shake it and put it back. This indeed improves the flow a bit, but it is inconvenient to keep doing it every few days. Hopefully, both cartridges should last for The claimed 6-8 months of usage

Day by day Water ejection from tap will slow down. Have to clean filter every week and 1 cartridge will last only 2 months maximum. There is no indication if the cartridge needs to be changed. In the pack they mention cartridge needs to be changed every 6-8 months but in real usage it wont last more than 2 months.
