Thermometer was easy to set up ... easily read (visability) ... accurate ... and well priced. Just remember to put the remote sensor in a protected area in the shade. I put mine under my deck but on the outside edge. ... addendum ... I found that every few weeks the receiver would stop recording the outside temperature and I had the same problem on the two receivers I had. So I put new batteries in and they started receiving again ... and 6 weeks later ... same problem again but this time I checked the batteries and they were at proper voltage. So here’s the deal ... when you notice no outside temperature being recorded just pop the battery out for a couple of seconds and pop it back in (reset) wait a min or so for the receiver to find the signal and you are back in business. You will, however, have to reset the date and time.

I wanted a thermometer for outside temperature readouts that supplemented the Ecowitt rain guage we bought. This little device does that perfectly. I particularly like the uncluttered console screen read out. You can immediately see the indoor and outdoor temperatures. A well engineering device.

We got this just for the temperature function - the clock works fine but was not relevant to our purchase. I tested temperature readings against a calibrated temp sensor and both the indoor and outdoor readings were within <1 degF of what my calibrated sensor indicated. It keeps a rolling 24-hour record of min and max temps, and we enjoy being able to track both the indoor and outdoor temps. Small and unobtrusive, but easy to read. It took some trial and error to find an outdoor location that did not get direct sunlight throughout the day (which would throw off the outdoor temp reading) and still had good airflow, but it works great now.

Looks good, works good, accurate, has a back light, and inexpensive. No problem to set up. Who could ask for more. My advice if you live where it gets really cold... Put Ultimate Lithium Batteries in the outside transmitter. Hang the outside transmitter out of the sun, rain, wind, snow, ice. It is after all, a little plastic box. I put mine on the shaded north side. It is inside a "fake" weatherproof, wood, birdhouse. Hung it a short distance away from the buildings to get a more accurate air temperature.

I have had similar brands of these in the past, but this one is definitely an improvement on them, and for a fairly inexpensive price. We have a guest house about 300' away from our house that's generally empty, and we don't want to leave the heaters on for 6 months of the year just to keep the pipes from freezing. This product advertised up to a 300' transmission range, so I decided to give it a shot. Our buildings are just about 300' apart, and it travels that distance (and through a wall on each side) with no issues. Now we can monitor the temperature remotely, and only turn on the heaters if it's really needed.

The light button is not necessary; once you're close enough, you can read it anyway. It would be nice if the light would just stay on.

Liked the ease of setup. A little smaller than I wanted but does the job.

IT fulfills the purpose for which I bought it and looks good doing it..
