Heavy, high quality and real natural looking logs
I got an itch to improve the looks of my fireplace so I painted the inside of the fireplace with black high heat paint and wanted to replace the old burner and logs. I researched all over the internet for burners and log sets and came across this Peterson Real Fyre Mountain Birch Set and looked like it would be perfect for my fireplace. When I received the order the boxes looked like they they have been roughed up some in transit. Luckily nothing was damaged and worked properly. The logs were not damaged, but had some of the cardboard dividers stuck to the paint which was a little difficult to take off until I damped a hand cloth and rubbed it off. I did not use the sand that came with the set, but decided to use black lava rocks for the base of the fire place and covered the burner to get the flames to burner more natural. The logs are heavier and seem to be a lot better quality than my previous logs and look real.If you are looking for a birch wood log set I would highly recommend Perterson Real Fyre burners and logs. They are a bit more expensive than others, but the quality of the logs are nice.

Beautiful!
Just had them installed by a professional (I highly recommend this!) They look great and give off just enough heat so that you can have seating nearby. My installer and others had already told me that they will get "sooty" and have to be brushed with a soft paint brush from time to time to clean them if so desired. They have a more formal look than the rustic dark brown type logs.
